Because the federal government does not provide guidance or have requirements for gifted services, students encounter a range of services from state to state and even district to district. NAGC and the Council of State Directors of Programs for the Gifted (CSDPG) conduct a biennial survey of how states regulate and support programs for advanced students called State of the States in Gifted Education.
Read state-by-state data on gifted education policy and practice in the State of the States in Gifted Education (2014-2015). The policy and practice information provided for each state (below) is taken from the State of the States report.
NAGC maintains a relationship with and provides resources for many state gifted associations. State associations can join NAGC to receive benefits for the organization and its members.
